Ferdi Schwartz - Vanille (Sango Music)
Release Date: November 17th, 2008
Reviewed: 3.5/5
User Rating: 3.9/5

Sango Music recently released the quirky and excellent "Looking Good" by Santa Fe with an excellent Retroid remix. Very cool indeed! Now the hot Mexican imprint is back with a 2 tracker from Ferdi Schwartz.

The title track Vanille is a progressive electro hybrid that kicks off the EP nicely with some cool ‘80s style bassline sounds and bleeps. In addition to that there are some nice delayed piano elements to the track, which definitely add value.

The second track, Lecken, is slightly different to Vanille with a more subdued production on show. With some of the base sounds of the former still visible whilst taking things in a more techy direction musically, this one’s more a filler track than a big hitter.

I believe there are two more mixes of "Vanille" on the way from Santa Fe in the not so distant future. Those two complementary mixes should be well worth checking out, to go along the two tracks available in this EP.

"Lecken is definitely a cool sound. Love that growling bass that goes wah. Maybe add a few more percussion bits here and there to keep the listener engaged. Vanille has a strange chord progression, I would have changed the notes around for maximum effect." - 3.5 / 5
