Frisky Records, naturally is the offshoot from the well-known progressive radio station of the same name. Following in Proton Radio's footsteps in setting up a label partner, Frisky Records has featured to date the likes of, Clubbervision, Pole Folder, and Federico Epis, to name a few. This release, the "Spektaqular EP," comes from Rome based, Max Gueli, and it features 3 originals plus a breaks remix of the title track. Platter is a lovely melodic breaks track with some good production values and much warmth. Definitely a good start and ideal for radio sets - nice! Spektaqular is a 4/4 production with some nice effects, a warm arpeggio and some really cool effects, again definitely hitting the mark! A very nice drop out mid tune too - quality! The Spektaqular Breaks Mix is like the original, but obviously with a breakbeat background. This would be ideal for radio sets, a solid alternative mix for sure. Finally Switch It rounds off the EP. Similar to Spektaqular, but stripped down, perhaps a nice end of set track for club or radio. Melodies and rumbling basslines to the fore on this one! A quality release, this is definitely an EP well worth checking out.
