Djamel - Manipulate The Data (featuring remixes by Barry Dempsey, Johan Chatkowski)

Just a few months ago, just about every major club in the world was feeling the wrath of a soulful little melodic techno tune, called "Quit Debugging," which seemingly came out of nowhere. Quit Debugging was the product of a young up-and-comer from Dublin, Ireland, by the name of Djamel. Now bouncing off the success of his summer hit, Djamel makes his debut on Monad Music, bringing us "Manipulate the Data."
With Manipulate the Data, Djamel undoubtedly shows that he will not be fading from the spotlight any time soon. This is a serious piece of tech house, armed with peak-hour synth hits, a rugged, pulsating bassline, and enchanting melodies. Once the bells start chiming on top of the already grooving rhythm, this one earns an automatic spot in the box. But just when you think Manipulate has manipulated all the groove it can, the main hook line is introduced during the second half - and that's all she wrote; this is a serious winner.
When a release has such a strong original version, most often the remixers aren't able to re-create the same musical magic; but Barry Dempsey proves otherwise here. Barry comes strong out of the gates, introducing the main synth line from the original very quickly; slicing it up a bit, to add a little flavor. The main infrastructure of Demspey's remix is more stripped down, but he adds enough subtle sweeps and hits to fill things out and make his remix a contender for peak-hour play. For those into a less-melodic, more punch fueled style of tech house, this is for you. Amazing work.
Johan Chatkowki also gets the nod on remixing duties, reconstructing the pieces into a peak-hour progressive thumper. A nice groovy bassline is added, and Johan adds quite a few of his own ideas into the mix, to make it interesting. Not quite interesting enough to steal the show, however.
This is a big one. And after two consecutive stunning releases, Djamel is now surely a name to keep your eye on.
